Internet gurus often discuss the importance of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), but few truly know what exactly goes into page ranking. Thanks to the folks at SEOmoz, we now have a better look at its inner workings. The website conducts a biennial search ranking factors survey and used the results to crack the code. According to the 72 SEOs surveyed, here are the components of Google’s infamous ranking algorithm (which you can also view on the pie graph above):
