Multi-Level Marketing Beware

Not all companies that present themselves as legitimate multi-level marketing opportunities are for real. Some are downright scams that provide no real product or service. They give the entire industry a bad reputation. Stay away from these, as you will only get hurt and may well hurt others.

In many cases, the MLM company may be genuine and enjoy a great reputation, but is still not right for you.

Many people have chosen to be with a “good” MLM company, but fail anyway. The reason is because it wasn’t a good match for their skill level, interest, the time they had to put into it, the amount of support they received (or didn’t receive), and/or the structure of the compensation plan.

When you are first approached about an MLM company, it is sometimes difficult to wade through all that you are seeing and hearing to be able to separate the facts from fiction.

Because many MLM companies rely on hype to market their company and many distributors seem overzealous in their approach, you are led to believe that you have to make a decision immediately or you will lose out.

Nonsense! There will always be an opportunity that is just right for you.

The real question is, how do you know which one is right for you? Well, it is not just about the company and how long it has been in business, its reputation, the product or service it markets, the leadership team behind it, the support given out to the field, the compensation program, etc. It is also about you.

You first need to ask yourself:

  • What motivates me?
  • What excites me?
  • How much time can I devote to this opportunity?
  • Am I coachable?
  • Am I willing to do what it takes?
  • How much money do I need to make?
  • Am I willing to get outside my comfort zone?

Once you answer these questions, you can then move forward to determine if an MLM company fits your personality and lifestyle.
